5 Habits That Can Actually Keep You From Being Rich

1. Overspending

The key point to being rich is to spend less than you make. It can be easier to say than to do, but it’s impossible to “be rich” if you go out and spend it all every paycheck. It can help if yo set up a plan and second bank account to keep all your savings in and plan to save back like 10% or so of every paycheck.

This can get yo into a routine that you can stick to and plan out and the second account with your savings separate from your “spendable” money will help keep you from touching it as well as letting you see just how much progress you are making.

2. Letting Your Money Sit

Don’t get me wrong, saving is great and I just got done explaining why it’s important to save in order to become wealthy. However it’s also important to find ways to grow the money you have. Over time inflation will continue to decrease the value of your money. It’s important that you can grow your money and make it work for you. You can do this by investing some of your income back into your business to grow it or even into stock. Just be careful and do your research first if you do plan on trying the stock game.

3. Not Having a Goal

You can’t achieve greatness if you gave nothing to strive for. If you strive for nothing, the that’s exactly what you will achieve. Setting some goals will give yo a reason, something to work towards and to surpass. It keeps you motivated and excited to get to work and keep going. It’s very important for your overall success so take a couple minutes and write down short and long term goals both, financially and non financially as well. It can make all the difference.

4. Not Believing In Yourself

The first key in order to be successful in anything you do is to get into the “I can” mindset. You have to start by believing that you can do anything that you set your mind to and loving yourself. If you don’t believe in yourself or love yourself then you won’t get as high or as far as you want to.

So stop thinking your not like “him” or “her” or you can’t do this or that. Once you believe only the sky is your limit, then you will truly excel in everything you do.

5. Keeping To Yourself

By not reaching out to others and connecting with those people in your network you are closing the doors to opportunities and knowledge that could help you grow and succeed. Having another persons opinions on your work can be good feedback you need to help you improve. You can share ideas or tips and tricks of the trade that can help you improve and by helping each other, you save time and work. If you just keep to yourself you can miss out on a lot of knowledge that could help you succeed, or even business opportunities.

I’d love to hear what you think. Are you having trouble with some of these bad habits or have advice on getting past them? Please feel free to leave a comment below if you want to add your thoughts on this topic and i’ll get right back to you. 🙂

Cheers,

Phil
